Recreation Program Coordinator

The Elbert County Recreation Department is currently seeking applications for a Recreation Program Coordinator. This position will be under the direction of the Parks & Recreation Director. This position performs marketing, planning, registration, implementation, coordination, supervision of recreation programs, events and activities; coordinates and supervises the activities of seasonal and volunteer staff; prepares program budgets and monitors expenditures; administers the rental, scheduling, use of recreational facilities and coordinates maintenance requirements with the head of Park Services; and performs related work as required. The primary duties include supervising the summer day camp seasonal staff, concession staff, football cheer volunteers, soccer program volunteers, third party instructors, and its participants.  Also assist Park Services as directed to include grass cutting, athletic field preparation, trash removal, etc. Applications may be obtained at the Elbert County Board of Commissioner’s Office at 45 Forest Ave. Elberton, GA 30635.

Motor Vehicle/Property Clerk

The Elbert County Tax Commissioner’s Office is currently seeking applications for a Motor Vehicle/Property Clerk. This position is a full-time position and will be assisting with the collection of property taxes and maintaining records of same. This position will also perform specialized and responsible tasks associated with motor vehicle titles, registrations, insurance compliance, ad valorem taxes, and sales tax collections.
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent, and a valid Georgia Driver's License. Applicant must be able to pass a comprehensive background check (criminal, driving, and credit). The successful candidate will be assigned to perform clerical and cashier functions in one or more areas in the Office of the Tax Commissioner. Essential performance of duties to include providing taxpayers with excellent customer service through the mail, by phone, or in person. Attention to detail is a must. Drug testing is required prior to employment.

 Field Appraiser/Trainee
Elbert County Assessors’ Office

Applicant must be 21 years or older, must have high school diploma or its equivalent and must have a valid Georgia Class C driver’s license. Applicant must also be computer literate, able to deal with the public, must be physically fit enough to traverse open fields and active construction sites. Must be able to attend appraiser educational courses and obtain Appraiser I Certification within six months after attending the necessary prerequisite appraiser training courses. More information concerning requirements available upon request. Minimum starting salary will be based on qualifications and experience.
